These terms of use govern your use of StemSplitter.app and all the tools on it (together, "the service"). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service
StemSplitter.app provides free browser-based tools that separate audio into stems such as vocals, drums, bass and other instruments. The separation runs on your own device using an open-source AI model. We do not host, store or receive the audio you process. Features may change, be added or be removed at any time without notice.
Your content and copyright
You are solely responsible for the audio files you process with the service and for what you do with the results. Separating a recording into stems does not give you any rights in that recording or in the underlying composition. Before you publish, distribute, sell, stream, perform in public or otherwise exploit stems, instrumentals or acapellas made from a recording, make sure you own the rights or have permission from the rights holders, or that your use is allowed under the law that applies to you.
Typical uses such as personal practice, private study, analysis and home karaoke are, in many places, low-risk, but laws differ between countries and we cannot give legal advice. When in doubt, use the service on your own music or on material licensed for editing.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service to infringe copyright or other rights of any person;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or attack the website or the services it relies on;
- scrape the site or automate requests in a way that places unreasonable load on it;
- misrepresent your affiliation with StemSplitter.app or reuse our name or design to imitate this site;
- use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Third-party components
The service downloads and uses third-party software and data, including the HT-Demucs model by Meta AI Research (MIT license), an ONNX conversion of its weights (MIT license) originally published on Hugging Face, and ONNX Runtime Web by Microsoft (MIT license). We serve copies of these files from our own server and fall back to Hugging Face and jsDelivr if it is unavailable. These components are provided under their own licenses. Ads and analytics, where shown, are provided by third parties under their own terms.
Our content
The text, design and code of this website, other than the third-party components above, belong to StemSplitter.app. You may link to any page. Please do not copy the site's text or design wholesale.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. AI separation is imperfect: stems may contain bleed from other instruments, artifacts or missing parts, and results vary between songs. Processing may fail on some devices or browsers, and heavy use can make your computer warm or slow while it runs. We do not guarantee that the service will be available, error-free or suitable for professional release.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StemSplitter.app and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Because the service is free and runs on your own device, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to zero, or the lowest amount allowed by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StemSplitter.app and its operators from claims, damages and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the service, the audio you process, or your breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
